RESEARCH SUPPORTING CHIROPRACTIC CARE

The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research concluded for the Department for Health and Human Services in a 1994 study entitled “Acute Low Back Problems in Adults” that nothing was safer or more effective for back problems than chiropractic.

According to The Annals of Internal Medicine, 73% of arthritis sufferers who sought chiropractic care found it helpful.

A 1996 study by the Michigan Chiropractic Council on children with asthma found that “after 30 days of chiropractic health care, patients averaged only 1 attack, whereas prior to the study, the patients averaged more than 4 attacks for the same time period and were able to decrease medication by 70% on average.”

PRNewswire 2004 reported that more than 80% of chronic pain sufferers would prefer to avoid the use of medications.

Ladies Home Journal (October 1998) in an article entitled “Chiropactic Adjustments for Chronic Ear Infections” indicated that 80% of children who received chiropractic care had no reoccurrence of ear infections 6 months later.  Incidentally, ear infections account for 35% of pediatric visits.

The Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research produced the results of a large study in 2006 showing benefits to blood pressure, heart rate, catecholamine levels, immune responses, enhanced respiration, pupil reactions, and improved pulmonary function from chiropractic care.

The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (2000) showed that almost all participants reduced the duration, frequency, and/or duration of their migraine headaches.  Additionally, 59% had none of the accompanying neck pain after 2 months of chiropractic care.
